We occasionally get asked to give talks. These are the notes that form the basis of these talks. It should be said that when we give a talk, the notes are more a guide to direction than a script:)

One thing we took away from the election was that more people didn’t vote than voted for the ‘winning’ Tory party. Almost a third of the electorate were so disillusioned by the election they chose to not exercise their right to vote.

Some of the most valuable lessons I learnt about community organising came from my time with the Independent Working Class (IWCA). As well as helping out branches in Blackbird Leys (Oxford) and Islington, I also stood in 2007 and 2008 as a candidate in the Stanford East & Corringham Town ward.
